Round Two
I began feeling broody before Lucy was even 1 year old and we even started trying for a while. Then I changed my mind and decided it would be best to wait a while longer. I knew
that I wasn't getting any younger and that it may take a while, so I didn't want to wait to long. The plan was to start trying again in the new year, Jan 2007. In the meantime
I was keeping check on my cycles to make sure all was in working order. In mid November 2006 I believed that my period had arrived pretty early on cycle day
23. I was quite gutted as I thought that my cycles where messed up and that spelt a lot more trouble in getting pregnant again. The next day my period stopped. Nothing at all,
just vanished. Over the next 10 days I had a little spotting here and there, getting more and more distressed thinking that my fertile days were over.
November 24th 2006.
I took my eldest daughter to the station at 9am so she could go to college. I had no idea what was going on with my body and I was now on cycle day 33 with only one day of bleeding
and a little spotting to account for my period that month. I decided to stop by the shop on the way home and buy a pregnancy test. I bought a really cheap one as I didn't expect it
to show anything other than negative. Imagine my suprise when it came up postive. I phoned my partner at work and told him. He was really pleased. Then I texted my friend. She was pregnant
too, and the last time we'd been pregnant together as well. The next day I did the other test just to check. It wasn't even a faint line, it was really strong positive.
December 2006
Yet another Christmas without booze!! Well worth it though.
January 2007
Well, the fun starts again. I started bleeding on the 4th January. Because I'd bled so much during my last pregnancy I didn't go straight into a panic. I waited to see what happened. It wasn't much, just a little spotting.
I was also suffering the worst morning sickness I've ever had!! On the 24th January when I was 13 weeks (or so I thought) I had a big bleed so I decided to get it checked out. It was only one day before my dating scan but
I needed to know what was going on and if I was going to lose my precious baby. The hospital did a scan and there was my baby, looking as healthy as could be. And I was dated as being
14 weeks pregnant and 1 day. They couldn't see any reason for the bleeding.
The spotting continued on and off over the next few weeks. I was certain I was feeling movement. I'd now named my baby Boo Boo. By 18 weeks I could feel
Boo boo even when standing up.
March 7th 2007
Time for my anomaly scan (20 week scan). Everything looked fine with Boo Boo, the sonographer did check thoroughly. But there were some anomalys detected.
One was a low lying placenta...hey, a reason for bleeding in pregnancy! The other was too much amniotic fluid. As the baby seemed fine the consultant wasn't too concerned, but
I'll need to have another scan at 36 weeks to make sure that the placenta has moved in time for the birth.
I had another big bleed at 21 weeks which had me back at the hospital. They checked me over but were not concerned.
April 4th 2007
At my ante natal appointment today I heard Boo Boo's heartbeat and it sounded so different to anything I remember hearing before! Lucy's sounded like a train, but Boo Boo sounds like galloping horses!
Maybe a sign that Boo Boo is a boy. I do have an instinct that it's another girl though, don't know why.
I had another big bleed on April 6th.
16th May 2007
I'm 30 weeks now and there hasn't been any more blood for 7 weeks. The SPD returned, but it's nowhere near as bad as before. With Lucy I was lucky if I had one good day in a week, this time it's more like
one bad day in a week. So I'm not complaining. I'm getting really strong Braxton Hicks already and I'm finding it really difficult to sleep.
